México City is these days the centre of the biggest reunion of international companies discussing how to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide regarding urban transportation. The aim is to create cleaner and healthier cities around the world, focusing in Latin America.
Our CEO, Pablo Negre, and Carlos Delgado CEO Latam, will debate 8 and 9 of May over future strategies to develop politics that would help improve quality of cities all over the world.
Urban growth in Latin America is constant, and by 2020 it is expected that the large cities of Latin America have an additional 90 million inhabitants. This population increase has a direct impact on the conditions of regional mobility: More congestion, more pollution and lower quality of life, so taking measures that involve a structural change is key.
In order to analyze the current situation of urban growth in Latin America, as well as to design solid strategies for the future of mobility in the region, more than 500 senior executives will meet in Mexico City in the month of May for the first Latin American Meeting of Sustainable Mobility (Latam Mobility Summit).
The last two decades of economic growth in the region have also generated a population increase of more than 100 million people, according to figures from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). This population increase has had, without doubt, a direct impact on the massification of large cities, some of which are among the most populated worldwide (Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Lima, etc.).
With this reality in mind, the Latam Mobility Summit was born as an international meeting that will serve as a transformation base for Latin America. Investment in infrastructures, improvement of public transport conditions, technological innovation, electric vehicles, mobile applications, … all these elements and many more will be the basis of an agenda that will have more than 80 local and international speakers, who will debate during two intense Days the future of mobility in the region. Coordinated by 10 strategic advisors with extensive experience in the industry, the speakers and attendees will have the opportunity to discuss in detail about measures of real impact in the current mobility conditions in the region.
The main representatives of the public sector and the main organizations in the private sphere have already registered for an event that has a high demand for assistance, solid proof that the field of mobility is a relevant element in the development of Latin America and in the quality of life of its citizens. But it is also a key element in the public debate of the countries that are experiencing a political transformation in 2018 (Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, etc.)
The innovative environment that surrounds the sector will not go unnoticed during the days of the Latam Mobility Summit. Thus, the organization will dedicate a space for entrepreneurs in coordinated mobility in conjunction with Mass Challenge Mexico, and which will seek to identify innovative projects that contribute to improving the quality of life of a population that directly suffers the impacts of road congestion throughout the region.
